Safe Golf

Everyone should be able to enjoy golf in a safe environment.

SafeGolf is a partnership of UK golf bodies across Great Britain & Ireland committed to promoting a safe and positive environment for all those participating, working and volunteering in the sport of golf. We all have a responsibility to protect and safeguard children and adults at risk.

SafeGolf accreditation is a mandatory requirement for all golf clubs (and county bodies) affiliated to England Golf from April 2021.

SafeGolf is firstly, a website – www.safegolf.org – through which anyone with a concern about the welfare of a player, or the behaviour or practice of a coach, volunteer, organiser, parent or a player, can contact the lead safeguarding officer at their national governing body.

Secondly, SafeGolf is the safeguarding standard England Golf requires of all its affiliated clubs to help ensure a safe and positive experience for children, young people and adults, whilst playing golf. The PGA also maintains records of SafeGolf Accredited PGA Professionals.

Leigh Golf Club is committed to working in partnership with other key UK golf bodies to adopt current guidance and to promote safeguarding initiatives across the sport and within our club. We extend a warm welcome to all staff, members, guests and visitors to our club and offer our approved safeguarding policies and procedures for your information using the links below.
